Regular stories usually last 24 hours
A standard Snapchat story is temporary. Once the story window closes, the media may no longer be available through the app or public web pages.
Why some public content lasts longer
Public profiles can keep selected content as highlights or saved stories. That content may remain visible until the profile owner removes it.
What this means for viewers
- Check current stories quickly if you want to catch 24-hour posts.
- Use highlights when a regular story has expired.
- Do not expect deleted or expired stories to be recoverable.
Browse current posts with the story viewer or older saved content with the highlights viewer.
